Hey guys this week i have been doing my create task. This week we have been learning about Matariki. The first create task is that once you have read and watched each link the slide above, you need to summaries the main point from each text. The second create task is that we have to do the can do's, and you have to pick on them, there was a animation, Venn diagram, Tawhirimatea and there were also a word find. The last create task is that we have to put all the create task together.

Matariki is a family of stars that symbolize the Maori new year from Ranginui and papa-enugu
The stars are the seven sisters and the dad's name is called papa-enugu.
And Matariki has seven sister stars. They are very entertaining young sisters.
They love to whiz about zigzagging and zipping all around the other stars.
The seven sisters are also annoying.
Matariki is also the name for the Maori New year. You can see the stars of matariki for most of the year
, but they disappear from the night sky in Aotearoa in late April.
The stars appear again in winter (in late may early June.)
When the stars appear again, and the new moon has risen, it is the beginning of the Maori New Year and there is much to celebrate.
The matariki group of stars has other names as well. One of its names is the seven sisters. Matariki is the name of the biggest star. She is the oldest sister and guides her younger sisters to their places in the sky.
A cluster is a group of stars that are near each other in space. When seen from Earth, the stars in a constellation appear to be close together in a pattern, but they might actually be far from each other. There are about 500 stars in the matariki cluster, but only six or seven are visible without a telescope.
Compared with other star clusters, Matariki is close to Earth-but it’s still 440 light years away. If you drove there in a cart at a speed of 100 kilometres an hour, you would arrive in 4.8 billion years.
